Tender announced for the construction and management of Bukhara airport under a PPP model
The Government of Uzbekistan—represented by Uzbekistan Airports, the Ministry of Transport, and the Ministry of Economy and Finance—has announced the commencement of the Request for Qualification (RfQ) process for the construction and management of the new Bukhara International Airport under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework.
The project entails the development of a new airport complex in the Kumsulton area in Bukhara district of Bukhara region. The new airport will serve both domestic and international flights, becoming a key transport hub for the region.
By the end of 2025, the current Bukhara International Airport handled 574,036 passengers, with the majority of the traffic consisting of international flights.
The project scope includes the construction of:
A 48,500 m² passenger terminal with a capacity of 1,200 passengers per hour for international flights and 400 passengers per hour for domestic flights;
Catering facilities, parking areas, and cargo aprons;
A fuel refueling complex with a capacity of 8,000 m³.
The airfield infrastructure will remain under state management. The private partner will be responsible for the construction and operation of the passenger terminal and associated infrastructure.
All interested companies with a proven track record in implementing similar projects are invited to participate in the tender.
